Helge Pedersen did it the next year also with a BMW R80GS. He wrote in his book 10 Years on 2 wheels,
"if I had known what Culberson had gone through, I would never had tried the passage myself!"
Since that time, nobody has tried to pass the Darien Gap with a motorcycle!
