| My first memory of the 24 Hours of le Mans date from the afternoon of the sunday June 12, 1955. We went with my dad to buy the "sacro-saint" sunday news paper and when he came back in the car, he was very upset: "70 people died at Le Mans, It was made to happen, they go too fast at 200 mph and too close from the crowd" !!! - I was shocked and I still remember that moment when he came back in the car. |
