Incas belief that mountains were gods who could kill by volcanic eruption, avalanche or climatic catastrophes.
The mountains could only be appeased by the human sacrifice of a pure human child (here a 12 years old girl).
Mummy Juanita is preserved in a glass-walled exhibition freezer at -15ºF in the Museo Catolica de Santa Maria.
